Meet Our Hosts

Municipality Haarlemmermeer
The Haarlemmermeer municipality is ideally situated within the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and proudly presents itself internationally as “Amsterdam Airport City”. We boast 67 business parks (some of them award-winning for being the world’s most sustainable logistic business park or for being the first Cradle-to-Cradle optimised working environment in the world), renowned for their cutting-edge facilities, offering opportunities for both greenfield and brownfield development.

With over 700 foreign businesses and numerous international headquarters, the Haarlemmermeer is a thriving hub of global commerce.

Notably, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is situated within our municipality. From the airport, it takes just 4 minutes by train to reach the city of Hoofddorp, known for its business parks as well as its beautiful residential area with various dining options, bars, and recreational opportunities. A bit further out of Hoofddorp, there are opportunities for rural living.

With its global connections, access to international talent, and exceptional quality of life, Amsterdam Airport City provides the perfect environment for your business to prosper.

The province of North-Holland is a densely populated region with more than 1000 inhabitants per square kilometre and is growing every year. With important mainports, Schiphol Airport, SeaPort of Amsterdam, Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMSX), the Hydrogen Valley status and the Greenports we work on innovations for a better tomorrow. Our administration wants to reduce CO2-emissions from traffic, and we focus on smart, clean and safe mobility to make North Holland accessible and liveable.

We see a role for sustainable regional aviation in these solutions for smart and clean mobility. Regional airports in North Holland are important for, among other things, the development of innovative logistics concepts, such as freight transport with drones. Based on our responsibility for regional airports, we will further map out the role of these airports within the entire mobility chain, together with knowledge institutions and market parties. It is important for the Province of North Holland to identify the most important developments in the field of sustainable innovative aviation and to explore the frameworks for integration into our regular mobility systems.
