With a distinguished career spanning 17 years in senior technology leadership, Dr. Chris Crist is a seasoned professional who has left a substantial mark on various sectors, including transportation, healthcare, and the military.

Professional Background:

Chris’ journey began with his role as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force, where he led IT initiatives critical to national security. Transitioning seamlessly to civilian leadership, he assumed the role of Chief Information Officer for multiple regional civilian hospital systems, where he honed his skills in healthcare technology.

However, his most groundbreaking achievements lie in his role as the Chief of Enterprise Transformation for the United States Transportation Command, a global organization boasting a workforce of 138,000 employees. Chris demonstrated exceptional leadership by orchestrating a revolutionary, cloud-centric transformation. He provided strategic guidance to key stakeholders on cloud architecture, DevSecOps, agile practices, data management, and cybersecurity within a substantial $540M portfolio. Under his expert guidance, 220 critical mission systems underwent a comprehensive modernization initiative, with many successfully achieving global cloud migration across multiple service providers and platforms.

Because of Chris’ innovative technology leadership approach, he earned federal recognition with the “Advancing DevOps Team Award” from the Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC).

Education and Certifications:

Chris holds an associate degree from the Community College of the Air Force, a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Western Governors University, an MBA in Information Technology Management from the same institution, and a Doctorate Degree in Leadership from Vanderbilt University. His commitment to continuous learning is reflected in the attainment of over 10 IT certifications, including the prestigious Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA A+, and Sun Microsystems Java Programming, among others.

Despite his extensive accomplishments, Chris continues to serve as an Air Force Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, contributing over 18 years to the nation’s defense. He also serves as a board member for the Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC) and is a member of the Government Information Technology Executive Council (GITEC).
