Van der Horst, Pieter

Pieter is an expert in Airport City / Aerotropolis development and in generating non-aviation revenues. He is the Managing Director and consultant at Airport City Academy, an airport real estate consulting and educational firm and is project director at SADC, Schiphol Area Development Company, a company that develops completely sustainable and circular logistical and mixed-use areas around Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. He is an international speaker on commercial airport development with topics like regional development, financial feasibility studies, TOD, commercial landside development, and commercial (terminal) retail strategies. In the past Pieter worked for the Schiphol Group. At Amsterdam Airport Schiphol he was responsible for the planning and development of the Airport City. Pieter completed a Master of Science in Business and Urban Economics, a Postdoc in Financial Management, and a second Master of Science in Real Estate (with honors, cum laude).
