Biography

Mr. Richard Tan is the Asia Pacific Regional representative for the International Air Transport Association, the fastest growing and most diverse Region in the World. He is currently responsible for all airport development, charges and operations; as required for the safety, economical and efficient operation of member airlines in the region. Prior to this he was the IATA Regional Manager responsible for Safety and Flight Operations matters in the region. Before joining IATA in 2011, Richard held the position of Performance and Reliability Controller within Qantas Airways in Australia and spent more than 4 years as a manager with Qantas Group Safety with responsibility for safety and risk management across a number of business divisions within the group. Richard started his professional career in the aviation industry with the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) as their Technical Affairs representative after completing his Aeronautical Engineering degree.
